Dear runner,

There are now only 4 days to go until thousands of children take part in the Bupa Junior & Mini Great North Run. Along with the Bupa Great North Run Pasta Party, Great North CityGames and the Bupa Great North Run - it's set to be a fantastic weekend of sport in the North East!

Here are some important points for parents and runners to help you prepare for the event:

• The Quayside will be very busy. Where possible please use city centre car parks. The Metro Radio Arena car park will be opening up on the day and is a short walk from the event. Cost: £2 for the day.
• Please leave plenty of time to move around the Quayside if you are visiting the Bupa Great North Run Pasta Party or watching the Great North CityGames - it is likely to be very busy!
• Please use the reunion signs along Newcastle Quayside to meet friends and family. Waiting at the finish exit can cause overcrowding.
• Water is supplied at the finish for both parents and children, however goody bags will be awarded to children only.

CHIP TIMING FOR JUNIOR RUNNERS
Junior runners are chip timed, so if you're taking part in the Bupa Junior Great North Run please ensure that you fasten your Ipicochip to your shoe using the bobble tags provided. The chip will be collected from you shortly after crossing the finish line, so please do not thread it onto your shoe laces.

PHOTOGRAPHS
Look out for the Marathon Photos photographers at the finish and around the course, taking your picture as you run. These are available to purchase 48 hours after the event. Please make sure that your event number is clearly visible on your front so that we can identify you on the photo and make sure you don’t miss out on your big moment! The photographers will be wearing yellow Hi-Viz jackets.

GREAT NORTH CITYGAMES
It's Team GB & NI vs. Team USA once again, as we bring world-class competition to the NewcastleGateshead Quayside. Broadcast live on BBC One, the event is free to spectate and will feature top-class athletes and Olympic medallists competing across a range of events.

BUPA GREAT NORTH RUN PASTA PARTY
From 09:30, the Bupa Great North Run Pasta Party will be in full swing on Mill Road car park, Gateshead. Thousands of bowls of pasta will be served to runners and there'll be live music, entertainment, sports demonstrations and more!
