Bupa Great North 10k - Gateshead

Spring into summer by signing up for the Bupa Great North 10k Gateshead on Sunday 17 July.

As the summer months approach it's the perfect time to join the thousands of runners already taking on the challenge of the 10km event, which is organised by Nova, organisers of the Bupa Great North Run.

The 10k will be a great way to get into shape, have fun and is a fantastic goal to work towards to keep you motivated

and running throughout the forthcoming months.

Gateshead International Stadium will provide a superb backdrop for runners as they finish the 10k run on the track to applause from spectators in the stands.

The stadium has provided so many great athletics moments over the years including when Asafa Powell equalled the 100m world record of 9.77s at the British Grand Prix in 2006 and when founder of the Great North Run, Brendan Foster broke the 3000m world record in 1974. The first staging of the Bupa Great North 10k Gateshead will open a new chapter in the stadiums history and you could be part of it!

The 10k route starts just outside the Stadium taking runners along Gateshead's Quayside passing notable landmarks such as BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art, the Sage, Gateshead Millennium Bridge, Tyne Bridge finishing in Gateshead International Stadium. View the full course details here

The Bupa Great North 10k is suitable for runners of all abilities aged 15 years and over. Visit Take to the Streets for expert advice, personalised training plans to help you reach your goal on 17 July.

Race entry is £22 and includes

• Race number and full information pack sent to you approximately two weeks before the event
